Excellent Resource -- Look Past the Title!!

For months I have seen this book advertised and always thought it was quick way to make a buck on the "What Would Jesus Do?" slogan. Then after reading a couple of Colbert's other books, I decided to give this title a try. I am SO glad I did! Colbert here offers sound, medical and nutritional advice on what is basically a Mediterranean eating plan. The Biblical references do serve as a motivation for Christians to eat in a healthier manner. Jesus no doubt had a Mediterranean diet, and there are numerous references to it in the Scriptures.

If you can get beyond the trite title and get into what Colbert presents, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Most books I read I sell once I've read them. This one for me is a keeper!

This is such an amazing inspiring book, Lacey has an amazing story about gods grace and a fathers love. her words have a way of going straight to you heart, I found my self laughing and crying with her as i felt the joy and pain in her words. much like her music she poured her soul into this book, and you can tell. A very powerful book

This is such a powerful book. I could not put it down. There is so much wisdom in it. Lacey Sturm is honest and open about her life. Her story and testimony of God's grace touched me deeply, and I am much older than Lacey. I have not experienced everything that she did; I am not of her generation. But the book really convicted me about how I look at others. Lacey has shown us that we must see people through the eyes of Jesus and look beyond outward appearance, which often hides the desperation, anger, and hurt. Even though we may not be able to relate to everything someone is going through, we are nevertheless called by our Lord to show love and compassion toward those who are in pain.

I pray that Lacey's book would be used greatly in helping those who came from similar, painful backgrounds. I pray that it will help us recognize the hurt of those who are struggling with so many issues, those who have no father, those who have experienced abuse, and those who believe their lives are hopeless.

I pray that Lacey's book would also impact those of us who have not come from a background such as hers, to give us a heart for those who are hurting.

I was drunk and this book helped me sober up, kind of?

I'll be honest, I bought this on an impulse after downing half of an eight pack of bud light hurricanes. I then proceeded to down two more drinks while contently reading the kindle version of this book. Minutes turned to hours and after a quick trip to the bathroom where I proceeded to feel death come for me in the usual over dramatized fashion of the human body saying "STOP, SERIOUS DUDE. STOP" I went back and cried silently as I continued to read.

This book has a lot of heart and offers it in a well presented formatting of paragraphs and chapter layout along with minor illustrations that help convey an emotion from the reader. The book begins with some background information of Lacey and is presented with several memories of hers that go from beautiful moments of childhood wonder and the struggles of growing up along with a different perspective of growing up. There's some moments that go along the lines of "my mother was great" and then you have that sweet attitude that speaks up from time to time, a personal accenting of an idea by the author herself that adds a rich texture to her story that is so relatable and engrossing while never going too far or giving too little. It's the right amount of love, like a mothers apple pie. Sweet and plentiful but, the baker herself exercises tactful moderation not to give her children false assumptions but instead merely to show the extent of her love for not only herself.

Ideally, this is the book to read if you want to read a journey of a young girl becoming a modest woman who defines herself while still loving and respecting the lord above.

I'm not a Christian, I still can't look at a church without gagging but, this book made me want to reconsider my blind hatred. That's something that none of my friends or outsiders have given me. I would highly recommend this book to any list of mom and pop approved reading material for young adults and even grown adults alike.

great book for people with a serious interest in Tokyo

Sorensen's book is a wonderful overview of the history of Tokyo (and Edo before it), from the point of view of the geographical and physical structure of the city and its development over time. The book should be read by anyone with a serious interest in the planning, architecture, or social history of Tokyo. Well illustrated with maps and plans many of which are not, to my knowledge, readily available to an English language audience elsewhere.

About the Author
Jen Darcy is the coauthor of two Disney Editions books, Disney in Details: A Scavenger Hunt Through the Walt Disney World Resort and Let The Memories Begin!: Impressions of the Walt Disney World Resort. She has been on staff at several Disney-owned magazines: FamilyFun, Disney Magazine, Disney Adventures, and Wondertime. After receiving her master's degree in library science, she became a high school librarian and now manages copyright permissions and is the record librarian at an education publishing company. Jen's favorite villains are Ursula from The Little Mermaid and Shere Khan from The Jungle Book, which she enjoys watching at her western Massachusetts home with her cat, Bagheera.

Misleading

Although this book is beautifully designed and features some great pics, I expected more text on the "creation, inspiration, and fascination." In fact, this book includes very little text. AND half of it is on Pixar villains. Nothing on the book cover or Amazon listing indicated this. I was very disappointed by the space wasted on Pixar. No comparison to the Disney villains. If you want the definitive book on Disney Villains, find a copy of "The Disney Villain" by Hyperion books from 1993. GORGEOUS and featuring essays on each villain.

I found it misleading, it basically lists the number of villains in categories, doesn't really give insight on the inspiration so much, and not as much concept art as I had anticipated.

A Highly recommended book for us Disney fans!!!!

This book is outstanding, I have not yet finished it but its one of those books (for me anyway) that you'll find something new or missed in previous readings. The pages and the look of the pictures are high quality, each page contains a short bio on the character as well as who the voice actor, and a tidbit of information on the development of the character. Each section of the book is color coded down the long side of the page giving it a very nice look when reading and viewing it when closed. This covers from Classic Disney up till today (Zootopia) I highly recommend this book for the Disney Book Collector!!
