About the Author
James R. Woodworth has been a member of the Department of Political Science at Miami University (Ohio) since 1948. He received a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University and had a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He has served in several administrative positions at Miami University, including the chair of the Department of Political Science, and associate dean of the College of Arts and Science. Dr. Woodworth has been a member of the Oxford City Council, chaired the Oxford Charter Commission and served as a trustee for a local hospital and as a consultant to the Fairfield (Ohio) Charter Commission. His publications include ATLANTIS: ROLE-PLAYING SIMULATIONS FOR THE STUDY OF AMERICAN POLITICS (with Robert Gump), PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE, plus articles.

W. Robert Gump has been a member of the Department of Political Science at Miami University (Ohio) since 1962. He received a Ph.D. in political science from The Ohio State University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan. He was admitted to practice at the Ohio Bar in 1952. Dr. Gump has served as chairman of the Oxford City Planning Commission, as a trustee for a local hospital, and as a consultant to the Charles F. Kettering foundation, the City of Dayton Charter Reciew Committee, the City of Middletown Charter Review Committee, and the City of Hamilton Charter Review Committee. His publications include ATLANTIS: ROLE-PLAYING SIMULATIONS FOR THE SUTYD OF AMERICAN POLITICS (with James R. Woodworth), plus articles.

James R. Forrester has been a faculty member of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at West Libery State College (West Virginia) since 1969. He received his Ph.D. in political science from West Virginia University in 1979. He is a member of the Bethany (West Virginia) Town Council and has been a presidential election consultant for WTOV ¿ Channel 0, Steubenville/Wheeling. His publications include GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS IN WEST VIRGINIA: READINGS, CASES AND COMMENTARIES, 5th edition, plus articles.

I am almost done with the book, overall I understand the point of view of the writer, but adversely the writer seems strictly to adhere to a extreme liberal philosophy. Where government is the answer for all problems facing society. Where have we as a American society splintered off to consider ourselves in separate American Categories instead of One Nation.

Whether you're reading this for fun, or planning on using this for a class or organization, this book provides an inside look into the roles people play in local politics and government. I'm a clerk for two local commissions in my city, and the information I've read in this book is a similar model of our meetings. The chapters are not lengthy, but the authors managed to touch on pertinent details involved within resident and voting members activity. Well worth the read!

The publication quality of the book is unbelievably good. I highly recommend getting the hardcopy book and not just the Kindle version because the book is so realistic, with all the inserts such as a torn newspaper clipping, envelope, postcard, etc, being so perfect (like the newspaper clipping is actual newspaper) that it's hard not to imagine that I have Elliot's actual book in my hands.

The content is pulled together, oddly enough, by comments by Hot Carla written in the margins. Since some of us suspected there was more to Hot Carla than we got from the show, it's nice to learn more about her.

Do not read this book if you haven't at least seen most of season two or you will spoil a plot twist.

Curiouser and Curiouser, Down the Rabbit Hole We Go...

I'm normally not one to post reviews. However, after being blow away by the quality of this book, I felt the need to speak up.

As mentioned by others, the quality of this book is so great that I actually thought they sent me a special copy of the handwritten composition notebook used on set! Not only is the text authentic, but the various inserts that come with it put it over the top, blurring the lines between a manufactured book and reality.

I'm a huge fan of Mr.Robert the television show. You NEED this book if you are too.

Also, if you are a fan of the Cloverfield Franchise and have knowledge of the Alternate Reality Game that pairs with that particular franchise, this book is for you! You will feel apart of the Mr. Robert universe. Just make sure not to loose too much of a grip on reality.

Awesome stuff!

I thought it will be a boring book-like-the-movie wannabe book. Turns out it's pretty good. With some off-the-book notes and such, looks so authentic.
All the papers surfaces are flat (except for the hardcover), not it's like has been written by a pen/cils, but the inking was so good!

Day 1: Satisfied with the condition. Haven't read the story yet.

Pretty recommended for Mr. Robot fan!

Start here to learn about Strategy

This book provides a great introductory overview of the field of Strategic Management and is useful to any MBA or consultant with an interest in that area. It provides an overview of 10 schools of strategy, with an assessment of the contributions made by, and a brief critique of, each school. This helps you learn to spot the pitfalls of using one approach exclusively.
The text can occasionally be a bit academic however, since cases are not the authors' intent, so don't expect many "real world" examples. Nor is the book exhaustive, though it does provide a bibliography for further reading. Finally, the attempt to pull all 10 approaches together, while an admirable effort, may be little more than wishful thinking, since the tenets of some schools are difficult to reconcile.
With this in mind, the book is a great starting point for those exploring the field and a handy refresher for those with more experience. If you're interested in Strategic Management, this is as good a place to start.

Great view on art (not science)

Everyone is looking for the 'right' way to do strategy, and there are scores of academics willing to give it to you. Mintzberg (and team) guide you through all of it, the history, the pros and cons, and how to use it. If you can hold all of these schools of thought in your head at once, you can practice the art because you understand it ... you won't be at the mercy of consultants selling you the 'magic process.'

"Strategy Safari" on the Kindle DX

Ok, I got the Kindle version and was reading it on the DX but it was quite horrible. Lists and tables are not formatted properly, hence all the texts just get lumped together, which makes it really hard to read through the bulleted points; the bullets don't exist and there is no line break to seperate each points from each other. Diagrams (i.e. images) are blur and pixelated; they are probably meant for use on the Kindle 1 & 2 where the screen resolution is smaller. Lastly, text boxes appears without border lines, hence you would most like get confused when the paragraph suddenly changed subject. Stay away from the Kindle version if possible. Oh, and the first chapter should have 4 figures but they are all missing in the Kindle version. You make the call whether to buy the Kindle version.

A Terrific Pulpy Thriller About The Irrestible Forces Of Greed And Lust Pulling A Guy Into Something

“You Never Know With Women” is a pulpy 1949 thriller. In it, Chase presents the reader with a number of themes popular in pulp literature, including the sucker who can’t say no to a beautiful woman, the endless greed propelling the sucker deeper into the quagmire, a valuable mysterious artifact that a number of persons are fighting over, an innocent man on the run with the entire world on look out for him, being blamed for murders he didn’t commit, and the romantic couple brought together by desperate circumstances, but turned against each other with distrust and suspicion.

The story begins with a detective down on his luck, his license suspended, the police out to get him for whatever will stick. Offered a chance to make some money as a professional thief by the most unusual grouping of individuals imaginable, he gets involved in a caper that barely makes any sense and results in him being on the run with bodies strewn just about everywhere.
The narrator talks about an “alarm bell ringing in [his] mind” telling him that he is being played for a sucker. He is sure that the whole “lousy tale” of the artifact, the stripper who walks in her sleep, and the rest of it “was a tissue of lies a half-wit paralytic could have seen through.” He knows he should have told the bunch to go jump in lake and that doing so would save him a lot of grief, but greed gets the better of him and then he sees Veda Rux and, as soon as he sees her, he knows there is going to be trouble. He should have known that the way this frail made him feel he was only going to have half his mind on the job and, when a guy gets that way, “he’s leaving himself wide open for a sucker punch.” But there was nothing he could do because it was like getting hold of a live wire and not being able to let go.

There are some great one-liners in this book, such as the idea that: “women are funny animals. You never know where you are with them – they don’t often know where they are with themselves.” How about: “Even a punk with a paralyzed brain hates to be forgotten.”

This is a terrific thriller, filled with twists and turns at every step, and, well worth your time.

My mom hard told me about this author, telling me that it was her favorite author when she was about my age so I bought this book even though the title looked a little boring to me and I am not much of a reader, but this book is really interesting anf absolutely hard to put down !! I love it and would recommended it to a friend :)
